Then choose according to your budget!
Tip from a mum: ‘If you can have a second criterion, the distance to a supermarket at reasonable prices, because you’ll be on foot and that’s practical…’.

This is not necessarily the most charming hotel, but it’s a fairly standard value that lets you know what type of room you’re getting. It is located close to the metro. The soundproofing of the windows and the possibility of making it dark at night is a real plus with young children. And there’s a handy free luggage storage system.
Your review: “ibis gare de Lyon (or the brand new ibis style gare de Lyon opposite) central and convenient especially if you arrive by train gare de Lyon!’

Which family hotel near Montmartre?
Located in the 18th arrondissement, Montmartre is known for its panoramic views over the city and its bohemian atmosphere. If you love its picturesque charm, cobbled streets, street performers and cosy cafés, then this is the perfect area to stay in Paris with your family. However, the steep slopes and difficult access are a disadvantage for families with babies and pushchairs! What’s more, this district is very popular with tourists, which means that accommodation prices are high.

A rather unusual hotel, located 1 km from the Eiffel Tower! It also has a restaurant featuring fresh produce. Children will love the built-in cabins and especially the games room with equipment to let off steam and video games!

- Trocadéro metro station – close to the Eiffel Tower (7 min walk), Quay Branly and Champs Elysées in about 20 min walk
Your opinion: ‘We found a great offer on booking, the hotel is nice and above all superbly located… 5 minutes from the Trocadéro and not even 10 minutes’ walk from the Eiffel Tower’.

Hotel Glasgow Monceau
Your opinion: ‘Hotel Glasgow Monceau (17th) or Hotel La Manufacture (13th) are nice and affordable for Paris. I prefer La Manufacture’.
Hotel la Manufacture – €€€
A recommendation from Barbara, accommodation not far from the Butte aux Cailles in the 13th arrondissement, a lively neighbourhood that’s great for a family evening out.
Where to sleep near La Villette in Paris – 19th arrondissement with your children
La Villette is a dynamic, family-friendly district in the north-east of Paris. One of the main advantages of staying at La Villette with your family when visiting Paris is the multitude of activities and attractions for children, such as the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, the Géode, the Parc de la Villette and the Canal de l’Ourcq.
The district is also well served by public transport, with several metro and bus lines making it easy to get around Paris. Families will be able to enjoy their stay without worrying about the distances they have to travel to discover the city’s different districts and monuments. Accommodation is often cheaper than in the more touristy areas of the capital. This means you can keep costs under control and take full advantage of the activities on offer.
Campanile de la Villette – €€€
A comfortable and practical hotel, located next to the Cité des Sciences and just a few minutes from the Canal de l’Ourcq, to get you off the beaten track in Paris!
Your opinion: ‘Room at the Campanile de La Villette: €416 for 4 nights in a family room for 4 people. It’s close to the Bassin de la Villette, the Cité des Sciences and the Canal de l’Ourcq, where there are lots of nice, inexpensive restaurants’.
Forest Hill à La Villette – €€
This hotel has changed its name to Remix Hotel! A special atmosphere, between glamour and rock, as they themselves define their design! Convenient to be in the La Villette district, not far from the concert halls for a weekend with teenagers!
Your opinion: ‘I found an offer on Groupon (regularly offered) with breakfast included and there is a restaurant in the hotel (Hippopotamus). I think it offers half-board (but I think it’s a shame to take half-board in Paris…)’
Family hotels near Gare du Nord
Ideal area for people coming from England or Lille and the North! No need to run when you get off the train! And your hotel will be able to store your luggage on the day of departure for one last visit before the train home.
Serotel Suites Opéra – €€€€
A hotel that came up in several of the comments below. You’ll love the kitchenette where you can eat in the evening or in the morning for less! There’s a lovely garden for the kids to play in when they get home, if they’re still strong enough! The Poisonnière metro station takes you to the Louvre, Galeries Lafayette and the Opéra Garnier.
Your comments:
‘Serotel suite in the 9th with our two children the week of Easter. It’s a hotel contribution so we still have a kitchenette and enough to eat for 4, so we could at least have breakfast in the apartment. We couldn’t find better value for money/location on our dates. Otherwise the prices were completely insane.
‘We’re leaving soon for the serotel suites opéra. We had also hesitated with the suites and hotel helzear Montparnasse.’
Hotel Verlaine
Your opinion: ‘This Parisian hotel is not central, but it is in a nice area and good value for money: the Hotel Verlaine in the Butte aux Cailles district.’

Where to stay in the Marais with your family?
This district is very popular with tourists and families wanting to stay in Paris because of its rich history, fascinating museums, pedestrianised streets and peaceful parks. The friendly atmosphere, wide variety of shops and restaurants, proximity to the city centre and easy access by public transport make it a great place to put down your suitcases. However, the high cost of accommodation and overcrowding during peak times may put you off.
Patio du Marais – €€€
Pretty flats set around a superb flower-filled patio! Ideally located just a few hundred metres from the Centre Pompidou, and a 15-minute walk from Notre Dame, this apartment-hotel will be perfect for families who want to keep an eye on their meal budget by cooking in the evening, for example!
Your recommendation: ‘I love the Marais. We went to Paris in November and stayed with our family (3 children) at ‘Les patios du Marais’, which was great’.
Hotel des Bains – €€€€
Your recommendation: ‘Hi, we went to Paris in October with 2 teenagers and we booked a hotel in the 14th arrondissement, close to the metro and Montparnasse station. And the advantage is that the metro here serves almost everywhere in Paris without changing too much to get from point A to point B. Our hotel was hôtel les bains with a family room and good value for money. And they have parking spaces available under the Montparnasse tower, which is 700 m away’.

Other hotels and chains where to sleep in Paris with children
Ibis budget « porte de Vanves » – €€
A hotel a little far from the centre, but served by the metro and offering a much cheaper stay. Comfort and convenience are the key words to sum up this accommodation!
Hotel Le Vice Versa
A superb hotel with an unusual design decor awaits you near Porte de Versailles! A hammam lets you unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Your opinion: ‘A very, very nice and original hotel in Paris: Le Vice Versa. In the 15th arrondissement. It was decorated by Chantal Thomas, on the theme of the 7 deadly sins. The gourmet room is sublime! It would be perfect for a 14-year-old girl on a Parisian getaway with her mum. However, you should expect to pay between €130 and €160 per night. But really, it’s worth the diversions! It’s not very far from the Eiffel Tower, and we walked there in 35 minutes, but it’s also possible to take the metro, as there’s a stop nearby.’

I discovered the Oceania hotel for our respective 40th birthdays. We had a wonderful time at this hotel, which is a bit out of the way, but has a car park! And the children particularly enjoyed the garden for breakfast and the swimming pool!
